2012 promises to be a year of celebrations from The Queen's Diamond Jubilee to the Olympics. In Southery, we're planning to be part of the fun with the reintroduction of the Southery Carnival.

A carnival committee was formed in the middle of 2011 as a sub committee of the parish council and since its inception have been responsible for starting the ball rolling for organising the event and raising funds.

The Carnival is being held on Saturday 2nd June 2012 in the theme of The Queens Jubilee and the Olympics. Starting with a street procession of floats leading to a traditional village fete on the playing field, we'll have stalls and shows galore to keep the whole family entertained right through into the night.

Opening the carnival this year will be Anglia Tonight's Becky Jago, who will also be judging the floats after the procession around the village. Entertainment and stalls so far include;

	Kelly & Dan will be keeping us entertained well into the evening with an eclectic mix of music and harmonies
Vintage Tractors	Current Total: 15
Vintage Lorries	Current Total: 2
Vintage Cars	Current Total: 2
Tug-O-War	Will the Sugar Factory team be kings again? Apply here if you have a team to enter.
Arts & Crafts Stalls	Aylaa Boutique - Handmade glass jewelry Phoenix Trading - Cards, Stationery, Wrapping paper Twink Crafts - Jewelry, home decor, handbag
Refeshments	Burgers, Rolls, Tea, Coffee, Cans & Donuts
Dog Show	Open to all. Stay tuned for further details on how to enter your Crufts wannabe. NB: For the duration of the Carnival, dogs will be allowed on the playing field, but owners are responsible for any fouling.
5-A-Side Football Match	Two competitions available to all with a team; Under and Over 16's. Format will either be a round robin or knock out, depending upon the quantity of entrants
